“Everyone in the Bay Area needs to get one (or MANY) of these tarts!!!! AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! THANK YOU,” said Mei Lin, the multi-awarded Top Chef on Bravo TV’s Emmy-winning show in the US, as she praises #tartsdefeybesse on Instagram. It is truly a sweet success for the couple, Monique and Paul Feybesse, founders of the trending #tartsdefeybesse.

With her innate love for cooking, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Monique Lopez Feybesse, an American-born Filipina chef married a French chef, Paul Feybesse. Their love story began in Copenhagen, where the two met and worked together in Geranium, Restaurant Magazine’s 2016 51st Best Restaurant in the World.

The surprising success of Tarts De Feybesse started when the couple uploaded a photo of Paul’s spiral-shaped apple tart on Instagram. The hashtag, #tartsdefeybesse was born and used to talk about the beautiful handmade Apple and Guiness tarts that taste as good as they look.

Monique says, “That’s the thing about modern social media. It’s not limited to one thing.” Here are five tips on using social media to propel your business to greater heights:

1 – Use a hashtag (#), it’s a powerful tool

Forbes stated that, “Hashtags are a simple, honest, and explosive way to increase your engagement as an entrepreneur.” What contributes to the impressive amount of sales of Tarts De Faybesse in just a short time is the help of their official hashtag, #tartsdefeybesse. Hashtags pave the way to help people reach you with the use of appropriate keywords. According to Stuart Elleray from socialmedia.examiner.com, “Whenever you post a photo, it’s essential to accompany it with relevant hashtags (#) that are related to the post. Hashtags make it easier for users to search for specific content on a variety of platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

2 – Upload Instagram-worthy photos

Do you know what drives people to double tap photos on Instagram? The quality. Most people appreciate visual representations, it makes them relate to your brand. You can tell a story with just one photo. Putting a little effort in making sure your product photo represents you and your brand goes a long way and is evident on the success of Tarts de Feybesse. It went viral for a reason – great product that’s photographed well. Advertising works the same way, creating a need/want out of photos with strong headlines.

This shows your dedication to customer care and will make your customers feel connected to you and your brand. Constant conversations with them will result in higher consumer engagement. As a result, you gain and maintain loyal customers and attract more in the process.

5 – Engage with social media influencers

Consumers nowadays are taking the wait-and-see approach when it comes to purchasing products. A consumer’s decision to try a product is greatly influenced by credible people.

According to inc.com, “Perhaps you have heard of brands that are actively partnering with people with influence on social media. They are doing it for a very good reason – it’s proven to work. Businesses who went this route recently saw as much as a 6-to-1 return in their marketing investment. Consumers today trust recommendations from family, friends, and social media influencers more than any type of paid marketing.”

Monique says, “I didn’t expect it to get this big.” Social media was the agent that catapulted Tarts de Feybesse to where it is today. As orders and inquiries increased significantly from loyal customers and potential clients such as retail outlets.

#tartsdefeybesse is a living testament to the power of social media as it could help turn something you’re passionate about into something extraordinary, the stuff that dreams are made of. And you, too, can achieve this level of success by taking advantage of social and online media. This levels the playing field as you get to reach more people in a shorter period of time.
